REBCO Melt-Textured Bulks

Superconducting single or multi domain melt textured YBaCuO, GdBCO and EuBCO crystals. Disks, squares and other shapes with ability to trap high magnetic field and exhibit strong levitation force. Suitable for self-stabilizing frictionless magnetic bearings, magnetic couplings, flywheels, mixers etc.

Material: Melt textured REBa2Cu3O7-x with RE2BaCuO5 excess
Basic formula: RE1.8Ba2.4Cu3.4Ox + additives
Preparation method: Seeded melt growth
Critical temperature: ~ 90 K
Shape: cylindrical, rectangular, rings, ring segments or other upon request
Dimensions: disks diameters up to 100 mm, standard squares 40*40*12 mm, standard rectangles up to 80*32*13 mm, custom shapes available
Trapped magnetic field: up to 2 T (77 K)
Levitation force: 20 - 865 N (77 K)

HTS sputtering targets for superconducting thin films deposition.
Formula: YBa2Cu3O7-x, GdBa2Cu3O7-x, EuBa2Cu3O7-x, other compositions and dopants (BZO, TiO2, etc.) upon request
Chemical purity: 99.9 %
Phase purity: pure 123 phase (according to XRD)
Density: standard 85 % – 90 % of theoretic density (usually approx. 5.5 g/cm3),
extra density available up to 94 % t.d.
Shape: circular – diameter up to 30 cm (12"), square, rectangular, etc.
Target bonding: different types of bonds on request
 

Bi-2223 HTS Magnetic Shields

Superconducting ceramic open tubes and vessels with hemispherical bottom for perfect shielding of AC/DC magnetic field, e.g. in devices equipped by SQUIDs used in medicine, biomagnetism, nondestructive testing, physics etc. The shields may be supplied in custom made shapes.

Material: Bi1.8Pb0.26Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+x (2223 phase)
Density: > 5.0 g/cm3
Wall thickness: approx. 1.5 mm
Shielded magnetic flux density (77 K): > 5 mT (typical value 10 mT)
Shielding factor (77 K, amplitude 2 mT, frequency 20 Hz – 10 kHz): > 10^6
Shielding effectiveness (77 K, amplitude 2 mT, frequency 20 Hz – 10 kHz): > 120 dB
Field noise at 1 Hz (cooled at 77 K in zero field): < 50 fT/sqrt(Hz)
Critical temperature - zero resistivity: 108 K
Critical temperature - midpoint: 110 K

​Bi-2223 HTS Current Leads

Superconducting tubes of BiPbSrCaCuO (Bi-2223 phase) ceramics with silver covered ends of a low contact resistance are suitable for current leads effectively reducing heat leak into superconducting magnets. The leads may also be used as resistive current limiters. Upon request the leads can be encased into a protective G-10 tube and fitted with soldered Cu braids.

Material: Bi1.8Pb0.26Sr2Ca2Cu3O10+x (2223 phase)
Density: > 5.0 g/cm3
Critical temperature - zero resistivity: 108 K
Critical temperature - midpoint: 110 K
Current: 35 A - 2,000 A (77 K)
Resistivity at room temperature: 1 miliOhm.cm
Outer diameter: 5 mm - 26 mm
Length: 70mm - 160 mm

Phase composition: 
  • Single-phase powders: 123-phase REBa2Cu3O7-x, 211-phase RE2BaCuO5 (RE = Y, Gd, …)
  • Mixtures of RE123 and RE211 and other phases calcinated together for maximal homogeneity 
  • Doping upon request
Other phase and chemical composition available upon request.

Fine Powders: Primary particle size 1 µm to 10 µm

Coarse Grained Granulates:  Primary particle size 100 µm to 1 mm, granularity upon request
